Make an Aluminum Bangle with a Laser Etched Message Make an amazing Valentine's Day gift and investigate some tools for prototyping your ideas. Join us for an introduction to using lasers to draw designs and cut shapes while making an amazing gift. The machine can trace any handwriting done in dark enough ink so bring a short message to etch onto your bangle. While we’re waiting for the machine to etch your message, we'll take a look around at some of the options The Foundry has to offer community members. You’ll learn:  What materials are appropriate to cut and etch using a laser. How hand drawn designs can become etch files. How to use software to create cut files Materials supplied by The Foundry: Aluminum bangles, wood Class Cost: $50 (materials fee included) Class Size: Min 4/ Max 8 Ages: 18+ Class Length: A 2.5 hour class session Membership: Upon completion of this orientation - and with a donation to The Foundry as a supporter, you're eligible to use our makerspaces during Open Maker Hours.
