Description

Learn the winter sowing technique with fellow gardeners. You will go home with 4 containers of planted seeds. Are you looking for a new way to grow flowers for spring? Or maybe a way to connect with fellow gardeners and talk gardens? Come join us! Winter sowing is perfect for gardening beginners and experienced gardeners alike. You'll plant cartons with four easy-to-grow plants in a color scheme I've designed to look great (Cosmos 'Candy Stripe', Cornflower 'Tall Pink', Sweet Alyssum, Love-In-A-Mist 'Miss Jekyll'). Winter sowing is an easy alternative to starting seeds indoors, because it requires so little effort from you once the seeds are sown. No lights, no trays, and no daily watering needed. You will go home with your cartons neatly planted and ready to sit outside and slowly grow until planting time. Details: Prior gardening experience is not needed. Children ages 5+ are welcomed with an adult. Space is limited to 10 participants. Location: The event will be held my home's unheated garage, so please dress warmly and bring gloves. We'll run some space heaters and make the space cozy, but dress for outdoors + dirt. Supplies: I will provide the seeds, soil and tools to use. You will bring 4 or more of your own washed milk jugs or comparable containers to plant in. Join me in this unique opportunity to get your hands into the garden in the middle of winter!
