Up-to-date information on drug culture and emerging trends in substance abuse. This all day workshop is geared toward pofessionals that work with youth, however anyone is invited to attend either or both days. (Tuesday evening from 5:45-7:15 pm for parents) ~ WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Law Enforcement, First Responders /EMS, EMT, Parole & Probation, Government Officials, Educators & Administrators Treatment Providers, Counselors, Parents, Concerned Citizens Everyone living or working in Malheur County and surrounding areas is invited to attend this FREE workshop. ~ Officer Galloway provides up-to-date information on culture and emerging trends in substance abuse. He has trained over 650,000 people worldwide and conducted over 8,400 community scans. ~ Even if you have seen him speak before you will hear new information. ~ TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE: Drug Trends Overview Underage Alcohol Use Over the Counter Drugs Drug Paraphernalia & Clothing Synthetic Drugs Marijuana : Concentrates & Dabbing, Legalization ~ Edibles & ‘Vapes’ …and so much MORE Paula has been employed as a Prevention Specialist with Lifeways since August of 2014, where her focus is on Mental Health Promotion and Prevention. She is a certified instructor in the following curriculums: Mental Health First Aid, ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Traing ), QPR (Question Persuade Refer), Toolbox, TMEC (Tobacco, Marijuana & E-cigarettes),and Botvins Lifeskills Training. She has created many custom trainings and presentations on a variety of prevention topics, including drug and alcohol prevention, mental health promotion and prevention, problem gambling prevention, mental wellbeing and SEL topics (Social Emotional Learning). She is an active member of the Malheur County Prevention Coalition, and heads up the planning of the annual Hands Around the Park for Recovery celebration that takes place each year in September. Paula has a passion for the work she does because she says, “it touches my heart on a personal level as well as professionally. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to help destigmatize mental health issues and raising awareness about addiction, suicide and mental wellness in our community.”
