I know every job posting probably says this, but this is a very unique opportunity in the construction industry. We're a testing, consulting, and inspection agency for building exteriors. There is some labor involved, but there is also thinking and problem solving. Every job, every day, is different. If you are someone who looks at the construction industry (especially windows / enclosures) and is constantly tormented by how everything is being installed wrong, then this is an opportunity to not only prove yourself right, but to help make the industry better. The labor involves carrying tools and equipment through the construction site and to the designated test area, connecting hoses and water sources, building custom equipment, calibrating that equipment, etc. The job might start initially as mostly labor, but if you can master the services offered then the intent is to eventually give a vehicle and crew to a dedicated team leader, and grow from there. Responsibilities and compensation grow together, the faster the better. The position starts as part time while you are learning the work, but there is an opportunity to go full time. Or you can maintain flexibility with part time. Full time includes health insurance benefits. Requirements: 1) Must have transportation and the ability to be at any location in the Chicagoland area by 8:00 a.m., if given proper notice. Some work is downtown (we'll pay for parking, if needed), and some in the suburbs. 2) The work is typically on active construction sites, so compliance with all of the normal construction jobsite rules and restrictions is required. 3) Ability to work outdoors in Chicago area weather - all seasons.
