Description

Paisley Fields & Joy Clark join Adeem the Artist for a night of Queer Country. About the EventIn order to mitigate the spread of Covid19, we are asking for proof of vaccination &/or a negative test at the door. We are also asking that tickets be bought in clusters to support spacing out folks who are not constantly in contact so you can purchase a table of 2-6 people and you can even reserve alcohol through the add-on section if you would like to avoid contact at the bar. About the ArtistsAdeem the Artist is a non-binary Country musician who resides in the hills of East Tennessee. They have created a unique brand of Americana that pays homage to John Prine and John Darnielle (of The Mountain Goats) in equal parts. Their newest album Cast Iron Pansexual received praise from Rolling Stone & American Songwriter as well as being named one of the top albums of 2021 by Bitter Southerner. Joy Clark is a singer-songwriter from New Orleans who champions a bluesy bayou sound with a splash of folk sensibility. Her influences range from Tracy Chapman to Stevie Nicks and those influences are palpable despite the rich originality of her insightful and evocative songs. Paisley Fields is a Queer artist and pillar of the greater Queer Country scene who writes country songs that are tender and authentic, but also pretty good with a joke. They’re mindful of tradition, but deeply informed by his singular background -- as a teenage Midwestern church pianist, a Manhattan piano bar survivor, and a touring member of pioneering queer country outfit, Lavender Country. About the SpaceThe Bird & The Book is a cafe downstairs from Southland Books. The venue is Queer owned & operated with recipes both carnivorous and vegetarian that light the imagination of any dietary preference. It is a welcoming, affirming space that offers a lovely spready of craft beers, Topo Chico's, & some of the most excellent food in East Tennessee.
