Description

Celebrate Tu B’Shvat and MIK Day with the JCC East Bay at this FREE holiday event! The importance of trees extends further than their beauty. We as humans benefit from trees for many reasons including their contribution towards our health, food, shelter and from them combating climate change through pollution reduction. Dr. Martin Luther King recognized that environmental justice was a part of social justice and believed that “All Life is Interrelated” including the life of trees, plants, animals and human beings. We are all connected to each other! Bring your family to the JCC East Bay to learn why it is important to celebrate and protect the trees while exploring the importance of tree equity for climate and social justice in honor of Tu B’Shvat and Martin Luther King Day. Activities will include planting, leaf printing, storytelling, seed ball making, scavenger hunt, DIY lemonade, stories with PJ Library Bay Area and body percussion with the amazing musician Evie Ladin! We welcome everyone, including unaffiliated, single and multi-parent, multi-faith, multi-abled, and LGBTQ+ families.
