Dave Curley & Colin Farrell return to our Scottish Cultural Center with guitarist/piper Will MacMorran for an amazing night of Celtic music. The Scottish American Society of Dunedin and Haggis Celtic Concerts presents three world class Celtic musicians: Dave Curley, Colin Farrell, and Will MacMorran. Singer, dancer, guitarist Dave Curley has played with Slide, Runa, One For The Foxes, the Brock McGuire Band, The Ashley Davis Band, and Moya Brennan of Clannad. Fiddle and whistle player Colin Farrell plays regularly with Lunasa, Off Kilter, Flook, The Elders, and The Ashley Davis Band. Will MacMorran is one of the leading Celtic guitarists playing today as well as a master of the Small and Highland pipes. Will has played with The Chieftains, Kirk McLeod and Seven Nations and The Ashley Davis Band. Their show is fast paced with brilliant musicianship and dynamic arrangements of classic songs and tunes. Don’t miss this amazing night of Celtic music. DAVE CURLEY: a multi-instrumentalist, singer and dancer from Corofin, Co. Galway, has been making big waves on the Irish music scene in Ireland, Europe and the U.S. for many years. After graduating from the University of Limerick’s groundbreaking Irish Music and Dance program with a 1st class honors, Dave became a creative member of award-winning bands SLIDE and RUNA. He also regularly performs with Grammy Award winner Moya Brennan of Clannad. Dave has also recorded with producer Donal Lunny and Grammy award Winners Ron Block, Jeff Taylor and Buddy Greene. His most recent record, 'A Brand New Day’, marks a new beginning in his musical career and showcases his vocals and writing style which has a contemporary sensibility whilst rooted in tradition. Dave is currently a member of the Ashley Davis Band, the Crannua Project and One For The Foxes. https://davecurleymusic.com COLIN FARRELL: Born in Manchester, England, into a very musical family to parents from Co.Galway and Co.Cavan, Colin started playing the fiddle and tin whistle from an early age and won numerous titles at the Fleadh Cheoil. He began playing with St. Malachy’s Ceili Band when he was 12 years old, and was a founding member of the band Ceile, with whom he recorded the album Mancunian Way. Since then, he has made a name for himself performing and recording with an array of great musicians in Europe and the U.S., including such groups as Flook, Grada, Karen Casey, John Doyle, Tim O’Brien, The Elders, Julie Fowlis, The Michael McGoldrick Band and is currently playing with the bands Lúnasa, Off Kilter and the Ashley Davis Band. Colin has also played and recorded with numerous dance shows such as Spirit of Ireland, Dance of Desire and Magical Rhythms of Ireland. Colin is also a composer whose tunes have been played and recorded by numerous bands and musicians. In 2005, Colin was awarded a Masters Degree in Music from Limerick University. Living in Florida since 2005, Colin has been teaching at schools and various camps around the U.S. and Europe and performing at Raglan Road. His 2010 solo debut album ‘On The Move’ was named one of the years 10 best albums by The Irish Echo and his second album ‘Make A Note’ released in 2015 was awarded Instrumental Album of the year by liveIreland. https://www.facebook.com/colinfarrellmusic Will MacMorran is a multi-talented musician, audio engineer, and educator based in Johnson City, TN. Will started touring at an early age beginning with multiple tours of Scotland, followed by ten years touring with Seven Nations. He has also toured with Step Crew, The Ashley Davis Band, and Grammy award winners The Chieftains as their guitar player. Will started piping at a young age and quickly added the guitar, whistles, accordion, and bouzouki, among other instruments, to his skill set. In addition to touring, Will currently teaches in East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music Studies Program and is the Department Head of Entertainment Technology at Northeast State Community College. Will recorded and produced his first solo album, Glen Echo, while playing all the instruments on the album. https://www.willmacmorran.com The society was established in 1979 and since then we have been committed to supporting the Dunedin Middle and High School Pipe Bands, and City Highland Dancing programs, in order to help provide an educational path to pursue the love of the Scottish Arts.
