PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A Park Slope nanny who was in a coma after pushing a 1-year-old out of the path of a pick-up truck on Union Street has died, according to family of the child. Arcellie "Celi" Muschamp succumbed to her injuries on New Year's Eve, nearly two weeks after a Dodge Ram truck hit her as she crossed Union Street near Fifth Avenue while pushing the baby in a stroller. The 1-year-old was left unharmed by the crash. "We are truly heartbroken by this loss of such a wonderful soul and know she is now watching down over us all," the baby's father, Patrick Mullen, wrote online. Muschamp — a mom and longtime resident of Park Slope — had been in critical condition in a medically-induced coma at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital since the crash, which unfolded the morning of Dec. 20. A GoFundMe set up for Muschamp's family had raised more than $81,000 since the crash. Mullen said this week that it will stay open to help with medical costs. "We have been humbled and overwhelmed by the amazing outpouring of love, support and kindness for Celi and her family," he wrote. "Thank you, again, to everyone. We plan to keep this GoFundMe page open and active for contributions towards the medical care and treatment from this challenging time and support of her bereaving family." Police have not announced any arrests since the crash, which was under investigation by the NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad. The 68-year-old driver of the Dodge Ram stayed at the scene after the collision, police said.
