The 8th occasional celebration of Nicolas Cage's epic cinematic achievements After a one-year absence, NICOLAS UNCAGED is re-emerging as a masked formal/costume gala in partnership with Cinema Detroit at the Historic Senate Theater in Southwest Detroit. The films for this edition are Adaptation (2002) and Mandy (2018), but as always, that's just the starting point for this Cage-ian extravaganza. Let's honor our one true god Cage in a Met Gala/awards show-style environment while raising funds for two amazing local businesses — Cinema Detroit and Senate Theater — that have been hit hard by the pandemic. As always, alcoholic beverages and merch will be available. The Nic Uncaged folks already have several ridiculous ideas on pace with previous years...more details to come. It is our goal to make this event as COVID safe as possible. The location, Senate Theater, is a significantly larger venue than previous Uncaged events (700+ seats) which will allow for physical distancing. As with all Cinema Detroit screenings, PROOF OF VACCINATION (vaccination card or photo of same + Photo ID) and MASKS will be required at the door. Masks MUST be worn over the nose and mouth at all times except when eating or drinking.
