EVERETT, WA — Commuters who rely on the Sounder N Line to get to and from work may want to find an alternative form of transportation this week.
Sound Transit confirmed Monday afternoon that a landslide had covered the sounder tracks at milepost 19.6, roughly three miles north of Edmonds. As a result, the agency has canceled Sounder N Line between Seattle and Everett through Wednesday.
During the closure, sound transit will be running buses between Seattle and Edmonds starting Monday afternoon. The buses will leave from Seattle at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Weller Street at 4:33 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. In the morning, buses will depart from the Everett station at 6:15 and 7:15 a.m., from Mukilteo at 6:26 and 7:26 a.m., and from Edmonds at 6:41 and 7:41 a.m.
If busing won't work, Sound Transit says other alternatives include Community Transit 416, Community Transit 417, and ST Express 510.
Assuming crews can clear the tracks on time and no other landslides block the way, regular N Line service is scheduled to resume Thursday morning.
