FAIRFAX, VA — A day after the season's first heavy snowstorm blanketed the region, Fairfax County will reopen for business at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. County employees will be granted unscheduled leave and those who are eligible to telework will be expected to work as usual. Employees who are designated as emergency personnel are expected to report as scheduled. On Monday afternoon, Fairfax County Public Schools announced that classes would be canceled on Tuesday, delaying the return of students to their schools for the second day in a row.
