LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Government facilities and operations in Loudoun County were impacted by Monday's winter storm that dumped snow throughout the region. More closings and adjustments were announced throughout the morning as road conditions deteriorated. The Town of Leesburg implemented its own changes due to the storm as well. At 12:01 a.m. on Monday, Leesburg implemented emergency route restrictions throughout the town. The restrictions prohibit parking in designated areas on King Street, Loudoun Street, and Market Street. On Monday morning, the Loudoun County Transit cancelled all bus services for the remainder of the day due to worsening road conditions. The county's courthouse shuttle would continue to operate normally. Loudoun County government offices were open on Monday, but employees were permitted to take unscheduled leave. Essential workers were expected to report to their shifts as scheduled. Eastern portions of Loudoun County were included in a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service. Western parts of the county were under a winter weather advisoru through the mid-afternoon. Loudoun County Public Schools closed on Monday. Originally, officials planned to open school buildings on a two-hour delay.
