NEWARK, NJ — The first baby of 2022 at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center was born on New Year's day. And it was a pleasant surprise to his parents, hospital administrators say.
Shonicee and Brian Brimage of Newark welcomed their son, Zayden Sire, to the world at 12:37 a.m. on Jan. 1. The infant was due to arrive mid-January but he couldn't wait and gave his mother a surprise on New Year's Eve when her water broke.
"The family is resting comfortably in their private room in the newly-designed Mother-Baby Unit, and will join an older brother and sister at home later this evening or tomorrow morning," hospital staff said.
