Description

BOULDER, CO — A person reported missing in the aftermath of the Marshall fire that swept through Superior, Louisville and parts of unincorporated Boulder County on Thursday has been accounted for, according to Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle. It was previously reported Saturday that three people were missing and presumed dead. The other two people are still missing and presumed dead, Pelle said at a news conference Sunday. Authorities will search the homes of the two missing people with the help of cadaver dogs Sunday. The homes were destroyed and covered in layers of snow after a winter storm swept through the area Friday night and left the fire smoldering Saturday. "Our ability to attempt to search and recover from those structures is very much impeded right now, but we hope that within the next couple days, we can help families and perhaps recover remains," Pelle said at the news conference. Authorities released final or near final numbers for structure damage with 991 buildings lost and another 107 damaged.
