Lincoln-Way D210 Schools Start Year With Remote Learning

NEW LENOX, IL — Students at Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210's three schools will start the new year with remote learning, according to a message posted Monday on the district's website. "With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases causing staffing shortages across the district, we have made the difficult decision to transition to remote learning through Friday, January 7th," the message by Superintendent Scott Tingley read. "This decision is only a temporary disruption to in-person learning." Beginning Tuesday, students will follow the emergency e-learning plan, which will include live instruction delivered via the internet, Tingley wrote. Tingley said Teachers will be in touch with students Monday via email with specific instructions. Students are directed to call the attendance hotline to report absences if they are unable to participate in remote learning, Tingley wrote. That number for each school is: Lincoln-Way Central, (815) 485-7777.Lincoln-Way East, (815) 464-4010.Lincoln-Way West, (815) 717-3535. Buildings are open Monday so that students can gather supplies if needed. Coaches and sponsors will contact students in athletics and activities with information on meetings and practices, Tingley wrote."Lincoln-Way will continue to evaluate the need for remote learning and will communicate any changes in schedule to you as quickly as possible. We appreciate your partnership and cooperation," Tingley wrote.
