JOLIET, IL — A 41-year-old Joliet resident who was arrested five separate times in November ended 2021 with a felony arrest on New Year's Eve, according to Joliet police. Officers arrested Jarrod "Luckey" Barnes around 1:20 p.m. on Dec. 31 and brought him to the Will County Jail where he was booked into custody on charges of aggravated battery, obstructing justice, obstructing a peace officer and criminal trespass. Joliet police responded to the emergency room at St. Joe's hospital last Friday afternoon. According to police spokesman Dwayne English, "Barnes was shouting and kicking chairs in the waiting area. After a hospital security officer attempted to check on Barnes' welfare, Barnes began yelling at the security officer and began aggressively approaching him. Barnes then struck the arm of the security officer." After officers arrested Barnes and "while being walked to a squad car in handcuffs, Barnes attempted to pull away from officers and refused to get into the squad car," English indicated. Later, Barnes refused to cooperate with Joliet police during the booking process at the station, authorities said. A Will County judge set bail at $50,000 for Barnes, in connection with his New Year's Eve arrest, jail logs show.
