JOHNS CREEK, GA — Students in Johns Creek who attend Fulton County Schools will begin the new year with remote learning due to the number of COVID-19 cases, according to a news release. From Jan. 4 through Jan. 7 students will learn virtually. They will return to face-to-face instruction Monday, Jan. 10. The district is using Closing Matrix , therefore schools with positive COVID-19 cases equal to or greater than 1 percent of the student/staff population will continue with remote learning until the number of cases decrease. Masks will be required in all FCS facilities Jan. 10 through Jan. 21. Staff will report remotely on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 3 and 4, and report in-person beginning Wednesday, Jan. 5. "We implore our community to do all they can to be safe," Fulton County school officials said in a statement. "We strongly encourage people to get vaccinated. Please follow public health guidelines and report any positive COVID-19 cases to the Parent or Employee portals."
