While vaccinations and boosters remain strongly encouraged, they will not be required for students, faculty and staff. However, unvaccinated individuals will be required to wear a mask indoors and in outdoor crowds.
What's more, masks will be required, regardless of vaccination status, in specified locations, including: Academic buildings, including library and classroom buildings, administrative and office buildings (except when distanced), health care facilities, and other areas as officially designated by the University.
Testing for sick and symptomatic individuals will still be available.
The news comes following a disturbing uptick in COVID-19 hospitalizations locally and statewide, which saw DCH Health System report its highest inpatient total since Oct. 19, 2021 on Monday.
