My name is Gil René. I am mid-60's (but youthful!) and have fronted bands for a lot of years. Recently retired and moved here from Seattle. I am a singer and songwriter, play acoustic and electric guitars, a little of other instruments too. I have a home studio and plenty of gear. In 2019 I released my first all original solo album, called "Las Vegas Rain". You can check it out here: https://gilrene.hearnow.com/
I am interested on forming or finding a classic rock band similar to the one we had in Seattle. The idea is to try to do the tunes other CR bands are not doing....for instance, we were doing the Darryl's House version of "Time of the Season", the Santana version of "She's Not There", Cutting Crew's "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight", Atlanta Rhythm Section's "Spooky"...you get the idea! Plus the plan was to do a few of the tunes from my CD. Of course, there would have to be a few crowd pleasers as well, but I'm tired of doing the same songs I've played a thousand times. No more Brown Eyed Girl!
This would be a part time band, for fun not money. (though I wouldn't turn down a decent paying gig!) I see rehearsals once a week, eventually gigging once a month at the most, probably less. Maybe every couple of moths? Summer festivals? Even though part time, I am looking for pro players. By that I mean players who show up to rehearsal knowing their parts, who want to have fun while playing great music. Ideally folks like me, who have been doing this for a long time, are good at what they do, and just feel the need to keep performing. If this sounds like fun, please email me and let's make some music!
EDIT: Forgot to mention that everyone MUST be vaxed. Bands work too close to each other to take chances with their health!
