I'm looking for a death metal band. My idea is to just focus on writing and recording a short demo of whatever production quality over the span of a fixed time period we agree upon in advance, say a month or two months, or even shorter if you want, and then see how we feel about it and if we would like to continue. I'm hoping for short-term commitment and diligence in seeing this through and actually getting something made. I can play instruments and compose but I would prefer to just do vocals, at least most of the time, though I dont have a problem with writing instrumental parts and working songs out on instruments, as long as I don't have to play them when we're actually playing the songs. As far as the approach, I'm most interested in doing something kind of old school and organic sounding, like old Cryptopsy, or Carnation, or Vitriol, but if we have to program drums I'll be able to do that, and if you have different tastes that's probably fine.
