This sweet dog showed up at my parents’ house this morning (Jan. 2nd) and I took the dog to the vet to get it scanned for a microchip and couldn’t find one. This dog is definitely someone’s pet and is super responsive to when I whistle or try to get its attention. She had some interaction with my adult dog, and once she got over the newness of my dog, they interacted sweetly and politely. She's roughly 40lbs and seems to be on the younger side, maybe 2 years old. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep her while trying to reunite her with her owners and need to rehome her. I am down visiting my parents for the holidays and leave in 2 days and can't leave them with the logistics of trying to rehome or find placement at a shelter. I've posted about her in various local Facebook groups and Nextdoor. I've called the local shelters and rescue facilities and have decided to add to all the places I've posted by posting this on Craigslist. I would love for her to be reunited with her owners as it seems she was scared of the fireworks and ran away, but short of that, she would be a great family dog and is very well-behaved.
