Description

Come participate in a guided group art therapy session, where tending to our mental health together becomes a means of building community! Estefania Villaquirán, a clinical psychologist from Ecuador, has developed a bi-monthly art therapy workshop that she calls "Jardines Mentales" (which translates to "Mental Gardens"). In her own words, Jardines Mentales is "a space that aims to cultivate psychological flexibility through art therapy activities." These workshops take place every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, and every month has a different theme of focus. The theme for January is "self-awareness". The workshops are donation-based, so you don't have to pay anything in order to attend. However, all proceeds to go directly into supporting Liminal (our nonprofit cafe and community center). To learn more about Liminal, visit liminalflagstaff.com. January's art therapy sessions take place at Liminal on the 13th and 27th of the month, each from 4-6pm. Everyone is welcome! If you plan to attend, please register and reserve a spot for the event on Eventbrite. There are only 12 available slots per art therapy session. Liminal is a nonprofit café and community center that is completely volunteer-run. All purchases are PWYC (pay what you can) and you never have to buy anything in order to spend time here. Furthermore, café sales and donations go directly into keeping the space up and running. We frequently host local art exhibitions, film and webinar screenings, safety trainings, queer-friendly parties, community meetings, classes and workshops, clothing exchanges, free food gatherings, community fundraisers, performances, and other sorts of programs and events.
