Description
I have a rare form of muscular dystrophy. It has made my muscles very weak. I use a power wheelchair. One of my current caregivers is no longer able to help me due to health issues of her own. I am looking for someone who can do basic caregiving like getting me in/out of bed, dressed an undressed, toileting, showering, ironing, cleaning, etc. I don't drive so I will also need someone who can drive me in my minivan to run errands.
Payment is $50/hour, with a 3 hour minimum for each shift: if the shift ends early I will still pay for 3 hours of time, and if it goes longer than 3 hours I will pay for the extra time. I will need you to get a certificate of course completion from caregiver.com if you don't already have one. I will pay for the cost of the course. Prior experience is helpful but not necessary.
I am a 50-something retired lawyer. I live in Los Altos with my wife, 3 kids (our 4th kid is in college), and 2 dogs.
There are 7 available shifts: Friday night, Saturday morning and night, Sunday morning and night, and night shifts on two nights from Monday through Thursday. I need the caregiver to take all of the shifts. I have one other caregiver, and you will be able to trade shifts sometimes if something comes up.
