Description
BEL AIR, MD — A two-alarm fire in Bel Air caused $500,000 in damage early Saturday morning, officials said.
Nobody was injured in the blaze in the 2800 block of 12 Stones Road, the fire marshal reported.
A neighbor discovered the fire at 5:44 a.m., investigators said. Because the house was under construction, there were no smoke alarms or fire alarms on the premises.
Officials said 50 firefighters brought the blaze under control in one hour, led by the Abingdon Fire Company.
"The home was nearly completed, and the owners hoped to move in soon," the Office of the State Fire Marshal said in a statement.
Fire investigators, including K-9 Kachina, were still at the scene working to identify the cause and origin of the blaze Saturday afternoon.
