Relocated guitarist/songwriter from CT to NC

Charlotte NC
Description
New to the Charlotte area having recently moved from CT (resident there for about 40 years) Moved here to get out of such a blue state (I'm libertarian/center) and seek some relief from taxes, cost of living and a generally friendlier lot of persons to be around. So far, so good... love it here. I'm in the Matthews area and rent a two bedroom apartment with my girlfriend - and the second office is on it's way to being my studio. I have lots of guitars, keyboard, bass and DAW software, etc. I play out a lot in public spaces to try out songs that I write by playing my studio tracks through one of my two Bose S1's and then my guitar through a Roland Cube Bass amp. Everything is battery powered and bluetooth for the tracks - so it works well in public spaces and the cops haven't hassled me about that yet. I won't go into to much here - except to say I am a semi-retired network engineer and technologist who will retire fully soon in pursuit of only the music. I've been playing since I was 16, was a professional musician since age 21, play mostly guitar for songwriting and could really use a wordsmith to put lyrics to most of my songbeds. I'm 68 years old but look (and act) much younger, take no meds for health issues, etc - in very good shape. I like to smoke weed on occasion and I do like my IPA when I dine out and the occasional bourbon... but mind altering is very low on the list of healthy living that I have adopted over the years - especially being with my girlfriend the last five years... she really helps keep the diet stuff in line for me. I think the best thing to do would be to direct you to a few places where you can find my music and past songwriting endeavors and let you decide if it might be a good fit for us both. I'm quite varied in my musical tastes - with the exception of most of the current auto-tune, hip-hop, dub-step junk... it does nothing for me at all and I'm proud to say that I cut my teeth in music and songwriting through the 70's and 80's. I do some open tunings - and in fact, play nothing but DADGAD tuning when overlaying tracks on my studio stuff when I play live. Long story behind that involving a broken left ring finger many years back that opened my mind to a whole different harmony of overlay in my guitar work that simply - works! If you would like me to send you some links to my music and performances in the wild - please reply through CL to get the conversation started. I'll provide a couple quick links here for you to check out - please wear good headphones when you listen - much better experience! Start with a listen to some of this demo quality songwriting with Lance on Soundcloud: - https://soundcloud.com/scarfacebetty - https://www.reverbnation.com/scarfacebetty You can check out some beach clips here from YouTube where I used to play in Milford, CT here: - Explanation of how I came to DADGAD tuning and some examples in songwriting: https://youtu.be/2JOTu3Ie74I - Just me, guitar and vocal - https://youtu.be/iRjxDKpP6Dc - - https://youtu.be/JEGuXjYkVkU - https://youtu.be/FwjUZb9KAc0 Doing an open mic with a high level functioning autistic friend at THE ACOUSTIC in Black Rock (Bridgeport), CT - - https://youtu.be/mNWeUuzUwvU Lastly - one I never fully completed that I would love to work on... again - called SALVATION BAY (lyrics below) - This is acoustic first version - very rough: https://youtu.be/bFZuw7-gGMs - There is an MP3 attached here (if CL allows) of some alternate backing music I wrote for it: ------------ SALVATION BAY - Noel Burke I will never forget you And I can set you free Deep as the stars away up in the sky Headed out to the deep blue Settin’ sail outa’ Salvation Bay I never wanted us to end Surely broken as can be Deep as the sea that I now must cross Headed out to the deep blue Settin’ sail outa’ Salvation Bay Bridge A I try so hard but it’s all in vain To win your heart all over again Like a passing wave Never again to be seen Bridge B In the meantime our hope can lead the way The willingness to be willing To give it all away No time for regrets Or the heartbreak that it brings It only blinds you to the obvious People, places and things Ending: I never wanted this to end Badly broken as can be Deep as the sea that I now must cross Headed out to the deep blue Settin’ sail outa’ Salvation Bay Headed out to the deep blue Headed into the ocean Headed out to the deep blue Settin’ sail outa’ Salvation Bay I will never forget… --------------- Let me know if you might be interested after you review everything... we can do more outside of the CL bubble - but I hope this was enough. Oh!... I'm a drone pilot as well - which I would like to incorporate into some music videos... here's one of Bridgeport, CT waterfront and transportation area: https://youtu.be/TLLcQaPNK8w Noel Burke -
