Description
Hi there! My name is Hannah Hoffman, and I am offering kids art sessions out of my personal art studio, which is a private room within The Sanctuary, a community art & event space in Arcata. I have been offering tactile play sessions for kids as young as 16 months, as well as supporting older kids with drawing, modeling clay, painting, as well as making comics, books, fabric art, hand-sewing, etc. I offer sessions for groups and one-on-one with kids, and it’s one of my absolute favorite things to do. Feel free to check out my website for more information, which is linked below. You’re also welcome to e-mail me with any questions, or to set up a session for your child. The sessions range from 1 - 3 hours, and the cost is $25 for 1 hour, $30 for 2 hours, $45 for 3 hours. Payment is required as a deposit ahead of time, and includes all materials and a snack. When setting up our session, we can discuss the snack I’ll provide, as well as your kid’s age and interests. As for COVID regulations: I typically don’t wear a mask during sessions, although I am happy to if that makes you and your child more comfortable. I think it’s helpful for kids to see our faces. I have been getting PCR tests weekly as a precaution, and I am fully vaccinated. I do NOT have requirements for kids or parents to be vaccinated. Adults and kids DO need to wear a mask when walking through / being in The Sanctuary’s common areas (hallways and bathrooms), and can take their masks off in the Kids Art room if they’d like. A little about me: I’m 31 years old, and I love making art and empowering others to make art. I’m a mama to a home-schooled 7-year old, who sometimes attends the sessions. I have worked as a nanny, an art teacher in public schools, and a Kids Art Time facilitator. My approach is very self-directed, meaning I like to provide materials and let kids explore and follow their own inspiration. If needed, I will provide some light prompts or suggestions to help get the ball rolling. I also consider pretty much anything done intentionally to be art, so sometimes our art time will include things that may not look like art at all! I like to let kids take the lead, while I also communicate clear boundaries when needed. Here’s my website! https://www.asplendidtending.com/kidsarttime
