*PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE MESSAGING ME* Hello! These are my two lovely pigeons, Darwin and Hedwig, that I unfortunately must rehome. I love them a ton, but I must do what's best for them as I am unable to provide then with the best care any longer. I have been having having less and less time to spend with and care for them. About Darwin and Hedwig: They are a couple and are bonded as mates, so they MUST go together. Darwin is a female and Hedwig is a male, both DNA tested. Darwin is a classic old frill pigeon, the one with brown wings. Hedwig is a king/homing pigeon who is completely white. Darwin is pretty tame and is harness trained, she likes pets, but usually only when she isn't with Hedwig. Sometimes, I would take just Darwin out just to hang with her only since she tolerates it. When she's with Hedwig, she doesn't care much about humans but will sometimes let me handle her. I bring her outside me sometimes to pet friendly stores, and she loves it. When they are both together, she doesn't have much interest in humans. Darwin plays with toys sometimes while Hedwig has no interest in them Hedwig is not tame. He is scared of humans and is pretty skittish. Hedwig is strong and muscular. He is a very flirty and confident bird, cooing at himself in the mirror and at Darwin often. He shows off his beautiful voice often. Darwin is quiet. He is a big pigeon while Darwin is on the small side. They get along great though, despite their size difference. Where I got them/Orgin: I got Darwin through Craigslist from a pigeon breeder. Hedwig is from a rescue. Hedwig's story is that he was found at a church with other pigeons. They were either abandoned or were released to fly home, but were unsuccessful. Hedwig was found starving, untrusting, and very skittish. He is healthy now and is a bit more trusting, but still not tame. His age is unknown, but the vet says he an adult. Darwin is about 5-6 months old. She has recently laid her first eggs. Living situation: Their enclosure is a 42 inch dog crate. They both live in it and sleep in it every night. When it's morning, I open the cage to let them free roam a room they live in. At night, I put them back into their cages. Fees: The rehoming fee is $40. This $40 fee includes Hedwig and Darwin, both of their harnesses, and some of their food (Versele Laga Traditional Mix), and other extras. I can include their 42 inch dog crate for an extra $40. The cage is a Midwest Large Dog Crate. Their cage is pretty new but a bit damaged (bent). It works perfectly fine. Please text me if you're interested or have any questions! I'll be happy to answer any. If you're interested, I will have to ask you questions to make sure you will be a good home for them. Pigeons are generally easy birds to care for. Pigeons bites cant harm you much, they are quieter than parrots, their diets are easier, and they are domesticated unlike parrots. Pigeons make really great pets.
