Description
Orchestral Musicians Needed!
The North Coast Symphony Orchestra is currently seeking experienced orchestral musicians in the following categories: first and second violins, viola, cello, bass, as well as French horn and percussion. While auditions are not required for most positions (certain key wind instrument positions may require an audition), the ability to read music and play standard orchestra repertoire is required.
The orchestra rehearses in Encinitas on Tuesdays at 7 pm, and usually performs five concerts per year at area venues. Concerts include a summer pops concert and a December holiday concert. The orchestra is often able to feature guest soloists from the San Diego Symphony Orchestra or other notable musicians.
The orchestra is conducted by Daniel Swem, who has Master of Music degree in Violin and Conducting. Under the expert direction of Mr. Swem, musicians have the opportunity to perform many of the classic symphonies as well as exciting newer and lesser known works.
The North Coast Symphony Orchestra is a nonprofit community orchestra supported by the City of Encinitas, grants, donations, and concert ticket sales. For more information, or to complete an application to join the orchestra, please complete this form on the orchestra's web site: https://www.northcoastsymphony.com/join-ncso.html
Note: Due to COVID-19, vaccinations are required for participants, and masks are required for string players at rehearsals.
