Families will come together to build social connections, while experiencing the book, "Oh, the Places You’ll Go!" by Dr. Seuss. Early Registration & Check-In: 8:30 AM CST Event Time: 9:00 AM CST - 2:00 PM CSTDate: April 30, 2022Location: Tarrant County College South Campus 5301 Campus Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76119 The purpose of the Book Angel Book Walk 2022 is to promote the Book Angel non-profit organization (501c3) and its endeavors to combat “illiteracy” in our “underserved” communities. Our focus is to provide and distribute literature and literacy resources to those in need. Another goal is to interact with those communities/community leaders, businesses as well as the students in the various school districts and learning agencies across the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and beyond during this event. Families will come together to build social connections, while experiencing the book, "Oh, the Places You’ll Go!" by Dr. Seuss. Also, during the event Book Angel seeks to increase literacy exposure and to demonstrate different ways to make literacy learning fun and exciting for kids. During the event, there will be a narrator, LaTyon Henderson, Ms. All World Beauties International 2021, and interactive activities for each page/station. The story will be available in both English and Spanish. The Book Walk event will have a host of stations for families to create their own memories, while experiencing positive social interactions, literature and a copy of the book, along with activities to help recreate the interactive experience at home. There will be vendor spaces and sponsorship opportunities available. The event will be Saturday April 30, 2022 9am - 2pm CST Location is Tarrant County College South Campus LaTyon Henderson, Book Walk ChairMs. All World Beauties International 2021Platform: Literacy and Education Ms. LaTyon Henderson, current reigning “Ms. All World Beauties International 2021, is a graduate of South Grand Prairie High School who pursued her Associates degree in Arts and Sciences from Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas, her undergraduate degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas and finally her M. Ed-Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University, in Phoenix, Arizona. Ms. Henderson is currently employed with Uplift Education-Atlas Preparatory K-12 Campus in Dallas, Texas, as an ESL Coordinator. Ms. Henderson’s platform is Literacy and Education, her mantra and favorite book by Dr. Seuss is “Oh the Places You Will Go.” She tirelessly promotes the utilization of adult and family literacy programs with this iconic piece of literature. Her goal is to promote positive literature experiences through community service, the Book Angel non-profit organization and making “speaking” appearances throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and beyond. She is a Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In her spare time, she is an “aspiring” model, entrepreneur, mentor and radio/podcast show co-host for Model Behavior with DFWiRadio.com.
