Description

"A 'kingfisher' is a bird with beautiful, brilliantly colored feathers that look in sunlight as if they are on fire." "A 'kingfisher' is a bird with beautiful, brilliantly colored feathers that look in sunlight as if they are on fire." John Mackey's description touches on the very essence of our existence. Our own light goes through different stages of brilliance and brightness, and the constant push and pull of life either dims or enlightens us as we move through the quest for our humanity. We are honored to have the Flora Saxophone Quartet from Arizona State University performing William Bolcom's "Concerto Grosso for Saxophone Quartet." Composer Kyle Green has written two poignant new works for the wind band, which will open our program. Join us for an evening of beautiful art. Established in 2018 to usher the Las Vegas community into a new era of music and culture, the Making Music Matter Foundation stewards the Desert Winds, Chambers, Honor Winds, and Band Camp Reimagined.
