A sound bath is a frequency based wellness treatment designed to increase coherence within the body. It provides support for the nervous system, allowing you to shift into the necessary state for healing. This is a great treatment option for anyone living with excessive stress, mental noise, anxiety, and any other issues that may cause you to exist in a "fight or flight" state. Space is limited to 12 attendees. About your facilitator: Hi, I’m Kristen. A midwest native, lover of the outdoors, and born musician. I’ve lived an unconventional life, following my passion and curiosity, which has lead to a unique understanding of the world around us, including the human body. I spent nearly ten years in the music industry as a recording and performing artist, working primarily with Warner Bros. Records in Los Angeles. While I loved writing, recording, and performing, my experience with music labels, publishing companies, and television networks left me somewhat jaded and unfulfilled. So for the sake of both my mental and physical health, I walked out of the music industry and into the world of wellness. Massage therapy was my entry point to a new way of being. I obtained my massage license in Chicago, Illinois and began working with a team of chiropractors. This gave me an opportunity to refine my massage practice, while continuing to learn about the body. In addition, I gained valuable business skills, which gave me the knowledge and confidence to start my own practice after relocating to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2016. The focus of my massage practice has always been to help alleviate pain and I’d built a successful business with grateful clients, doing just that. But I’m naturally a curious person and I love to learn, so I began my own deep dive into the body to better understand what pain really is and where it comes from. This was the game changer. Typically the body is studied from a chemical and biological perspective, but when you go even deeper you get to physics. So I learned about the field, or what most of people think of as empty space or air, which makes up 99% of everything. I learned about resonance and how waves in space affect other waves in space, including the space in and around the body. I learned about electricity, or light as the animating force in all life forms. I learned about the patterns of design in nature. Essentially, I found myself in the world of energy, more commonly understood as light and sound. This new understanding helped me realize that sound and light have the potential to be two of our greatest biological allies. So with a desire to help others, I bought my first set of singing bowls and began developing a practice based upon my studies. Today, I maintain a small massage practice, and offer sound baths and workshops, allowing others to experience the power of sound and learn more about who they really are.
