Firesides are hour-long presentations for the public, held on Friday evenings in the winter at the Mendenhall Glacier since 1962. Free!
The Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center Fireside Lecture Series is a Juneau tradition! Held each winter, this series consists of a three-month-long slate of speakers from around the world, chatting about a diverse and fascinating mix of topics. Lectures are held each Friday evening from January-March and begin at 7 pm. These events are free to attend, but beginning in 2022, tickets are required for admission. This is necessary due to a limited number of seats, but again, the tickets are free.
