PITTSBURGH, PA — A post-holiday letdown? Not in Pittsburgh. January is chock full of concerts, live theatrical performances and, of course, the usual post-holiday dinosaur attraction. Don't let the winter weather keep you indoors. Get out and enjoy some of these events: Januscary Film Festival, Jan. 1-6, Harris Theater, Downtown. It's a little early for Halloween, but the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will screen six classic and new horror films at the festival kicking off with a free screening of John Carptenter's "The Thing," on Jan. 1. The other films are "Hellbender," "Night Drive," "Eyes of Fire," "Let the Wrong One In," and "We're All Going to the World's Fair." Oklahoma! Jan. 4-9, Benedum Center, Downtown. This is Oklahoma! reimagined for the21st century and the Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical. It's not your mother and father's Rodgers and Hammerstein. Dinosaur Adventure, Jan. 8-9, Monroeville Convention Center. This one of a kind exhibit features realistic, life-sized dinosaurs thatcome alive with their life-like movement and roars. Learn about the mostpopular dinosaurs -Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Diplodocus,Velociraptor and explore recent finds with exciting discoveries. Pittsburgh RV Show, Jan. 8-16, David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Nine acres of recreational vehicles will be on display in the largest indoor RV show in the nation. You'll find lightweight trailers, travel trailers, fifth wheel trailers, toy haulers, various motor homes and more. That Golden Girls Show! Jan. 12-13, Byham Theater, Downtown. This show parodies classic "Golden Girls" moments - with puppets. Prepare for an evening of cheesecake, laughter, jazzercise, shoulder pads, sex, quick-witted putdowns. Citizen Cope, Jan. 19, Byham Theater, Downtown. Citizen Cope - also known as Clarence Greenwood - has released seven studio LPs that have garnered him a loyal following despite never being fully embraced by the mainstream media and commercial radio. He brings his songs to Pittsburgh in one of the year's first concerts. Shen Yun: China Before Communism, Jan. 21-23, Benedum Center, Downtown. Featuring one of the world's oldest art forms — classical Chinese dance — along with patented interactive backdrops and all-original orchestral compositions, Shen Yun brings to life ancient China's enchanting beauty and profound wisdom. 2022 World of Wheels Custom Car Show, Jan. 21-23, David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The 60th Annual MaxMotive World of Wheels is a gathering place for car enthusiasts to enjoy a full weekend of everything involving custom cars. Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets, Jan. 26, Benedum Center, Downtown. Pink Floyd co-founder and drummer Nick Mason, Spandau Ballet guitarist Gary Kemp, longtime Pink Floyd touring bassist Guy Pratt, guitarist Lee Harris, and keyboardist Dom Beken will put on a psychedelic Floydish show. Erasure: The Neon Tour, Jan. 27, Byham Theater, Downtown. The synth pop band will be touring to promote their 18th studio album, "The Neon," which was released in 2020. Expect to hear new songs such as "Nerves of Steel," "Hey Now (Think I Got A Feeling)," and "Fallen Angel," along with classic Erasure hits.
