Come learn how to get involved w/ LGBTQ+ projects and Trans Support Programs! We'll be networking, strategizing and coworking together! 1st Thursdays at 5:30 PM EST at Shaw Library in Meeting Room 1! The LGBTQ+ Community Planning event will be a gathering of individuals to learn how to support the LGBTQ+ community through events and initiatives centered around social equity, justice and activism. We will be discussing ways to make positive impacts and how to work through community building and partnerships. Come learn how to help the LGBTQ+ community from Nonprofit CAKE Society Co. We will be networking, strategizing and coworking together! Other Details: This event is open to EVERYONE! While all of CAKE Society Co centers the BIPOC, Immigrant, Trans and Gender-Expansive Community, all events are open to LGBTQ+ Members and Allies! Depending on Members Interests, this event may be followed by potential social outting afterwards. Such as dinner, coffee etc. No food or drinks are allowed in the library. The Metro Stop is: Shaw-Howard Schedule: 5 Mins: Sign in, pronouns, intros. 15-25 Mins: Brief Update on what’s going on in the organization, any calls of action, questions and then room for opportunities / Guest speaker if someone would like to present Next 15-20 Mins: How to implement strategy Remaining Time 30-60 mins: Coworking/Socializing/Networking Who is the host? Colton Gibbons, Executive Director of CAKE Society Co is a dedicated Transmasc community activist and Zumba instructor. He is a PhD Student studying Business Psychology and the founder of Arlington's BIPOC Immigrant Trans Focused 501(c)(3) Nonprofit CAKE Society Co. He has a Master's degree in Sports Management from Georgetown University and learned Hip Hop during his undergraduate degree at SUNY Purchase. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his dog and rabbit. Core Values: CAKE Society Co is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on providing mental,physical and holistic health services, resources and jobs to the BIPOC Immigrant Transgender and Gender-Expansive Community.
