Carter Playdate is a monthly program for children, ages 3–5 years old, and their favorite grown-up. What makes a bird a bird? What makes a bear a bear? Let’s find out together! Join us this month as we read How to Make a Bird by Megan McKinlay. Visit furry and feathered friends in the galleries and work together as a family to create a colorful field guide filled with your favorite finds.   Join us each month for Carter Playdate, our free program for children ages 3 to 5 and their families.   American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation may be provided during this event upon advance request.  Registration opens January 1, 2021. The Amon Carter Museum of American Art was established through the generosity of Amon G. Carter Sr. (1879–1955) to house his collection of paintings and sculpture by Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell; to collect, preserve, and exhibit the finest examples of American art; and to serve an educational role through exhibitions, publications, and programs devoted to the study of American art. Now in its sixth decade of operation, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art offers a diverse array of exhibitions, publications, and programs that connect visitors to masterworks of American art.
