Hi, I’m Melanie - your new Sewing / Fashion Illustration Instructor. I’m an F.I.T. graduate and have been sewing over 20 years. I currently work in the fashion industry and share my love of sewing and fashion with fellow creatives, young and old. I offer in person or virtual beginner or intermediate sewing lessons in addition to 5 week fashion sketching and doll making classes. Below please find a few options I offer for sewing: OPT 1 / $40 : one 1 hour class OPT 2 / $70 : one 2 hour class OPT 3 / $200 : one 1.5 hour - 5x classes total In the 5 class package we focus on learning the basics of sewing - how to prepare the machine for use, sewing straight stitches, controlling the speed of the machine and cutting patterns. I provide ALL supplies + sewing machine for you to finish your project, which you keep. If you have a sewing machine feel free to bring it or use one of mine. Please note all in person classes are one on one, temperature checks are administered upon entry and masks must be worn throughout class duration. Virtual / 5 class package: *Sewing - students must have their own sewing machine and will have to purchase minimal sewing tools (pictures and links provided). Fabric + trim will be mailed to students who participate in the beginners sewing 5 class package. *Fashion Sketching - students must purchase or have sketching supplies. Pre- assembled specialized cardstick will be mailed to complete mood board. *Doll Making - all supplies will be mailed.
