In 2015, long-time friends and DJs, Bryan Barisone (Barisone) and Bryce Lowell (PRSN) decided to collaborate on an event series in Portland, OR that encompassed the sounds that have influenced their DJ sets for years. The result was Wake the Town, a dancefloor-driven party that shines light on unique artists and music from around the globe. To Barisone and PRSN, DJing has been about bridging the gaps between genres and tempos, focussing on the interconnection of sounds that create the web of dance music that we know today. From hip-hop, to footwork, to dub, to dancehall, Wake the Town strives to highlight underground and innovative sounds in a party environment. Danny Corn's ear for fresh and innovative sounds have made him a staple of the West Coast music scene for over twenty years. From playing numerous shows and festivals around the world, to booking legendary lineups for Symbiosis Gathering, Danny’s influence is undeniable. In 2017, after a few guest appearances at Wake the Town, it was evident that he should become a permanent member of the crew. Over the years, Wake the Town has grown to become a staple in the Portland music community, hosting parties internationally, and receiving accolades from prominent publications such as Mixmag. The crew have also spent over half their lives snowboarding, and couldn’t be happier about being a part of Natural Selection.
