Press release from Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce: 2021-12-30 TRAVELING THIS NEW YEAR'S? ARRIVE EARLY The Lee County Port Authority (LCPA) would like to remind your readers and viewers about the following information for traveling out of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) this holiday: • Arrive early. We expect a very busy New Year's holiday at RSW and don't want travelers to miss their flight. Please be in line at your security checkpoint at least 2 hours prior to flight departure. • LCPA is expecting heavier passenger traffic this holiday season, which means the airport is anticipating higher parking volumes through Jan. 5, 2022. We will post parking updates on the airport's website (flylcpa.com) throughout the holiday to keep travelers informed on airport parking availability. • You must wear a mask while inside the airport terminal and rental car facility per a federal mask mandate for all airports and public transportation facilities. • Know what to expect before traveling. Airports, airlines and TSA all have specific COVID-19 travel guidance and tips on their websites. Understand any pandemic-related rules or restrictions for your final travel destination. • Roads are busier during the holidays, so allow extra time to get to the airport. To avoid congestion on local roadways, use the I-75 Direct Connect to get to and from RSW. • If there is inclement weather forecasted at destination or connecting airports, travelers should check with their air carrier to see if there are any changes to their flight schedules. • Visit the Transportation Security Administration's website at tsa.gov for tips about what you can and cannot bring through the security checkpoint. For more airport information, please visit flylcpa.com or Facebook at facebook.com/flyRSW. This press release was produced by Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce.
