Press release from the City of Oak Creek: 12/30/2021 1:00 PM The Oak Creek Public Library is hosting a number of free programs for children, tweens, and teens during the month of January. Some of these programs require registration, and space is limited. Please see below for each program's registration start and end dates. Then, sign up by visiting the library's events calendar, in person at 8040 S. 6th St., or over the phone by calling 414-766-7900. Take Out Tween Fandom Crafters - "Avatar: The Last Airbender" Element Coasters When you register for this Take Out program you will receive crafting materials to create your own four coaster set of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" element symbols. This program is geared toward tweens in 6th-8th grade. We'll provide the main materials for this craft and you'll provide your imagination! Program kits will be available for pick-up from Saturday, January 8 through Monday, January 17. Registration begins Monday, December 20 and closes Friday, January 7. Take Out Family Fun - Dog Man When you register for this Take Out program you will receive materials to do activities related to Dav Pilkey's "Dog Man" graphic novel series. This program is geared toward children ages 5-11. Only one family member needs to register. We'll provide the themed materials you provide the glue, scissors, crayons and your imagination! Program kits will be available for pick-up from Saturday, January 15 through Monday, January 24. Registration begins Monday, January 3 and closes Friday, January 14. Take Out Imagination Station – Sweets Shop When you register for this Take Out program, you will receive materials to create a pretend play Sweets Shop. This program is geared toward children ages 3-6. Only one family member needs to register. We'll provide the themed materials, you provide the glue, scissors, crayons, and your imagination! Program kits will be available for pick-up from Saturday, January 22 through Monday, January 31. Registration begins Monday, January 10 and closes Friday, January 21. Take Out DIY Family Escape Room - 80's Edition When you register for this Take Out program you will receive materials to create an escape room at home. This program is geared toward children ages 10-18 but is intended for the whole family to participate! Please only register once per family. We'll provide the themed materials, you provide a computer with Internet access to solve the locks...along with your puzzle-solving skills! Program kits will be available for pick-up from Saturday, January 29 through Monday, February 7. Registration begins Monday, January 17 and closes Friday, January 28.
