Cape Cod Hospitals Need Blood: See The January Donation Schedule

BARNSTABLE, MA — Are you looking for a way to help others and make a difference in the community? Cape Cod Healthcare could use residents' help replenishing its blood supply. Since 1970, January has been recognized as National Blood Donor month to help emphasize the importance of blood and platelet donations, especially during the winter months when inclement weather or seasonal illness may impact donations Cape Cod and Falmouth hospitals need at least one week's worth of blood on hand at all times, since each unit collected or purchased only lasts 42 days. All blood collected at Cape Cod Healthcare blood drives stays on Cape Cod. Donors in December will receive a free Target gift card.
