January The Post-Gazette announced it was cutting its print edition to two days per week. KDKA-AM news anchor Rose Ryan Douglas announced her retirement. WTAE-TV weekend anchor Brittany Hoke abruptly left the station. Jean Connelly, former WTAE-TV talk show host, died at 97. February WPXI's Amy Marcinkiewicz resigned to run for public office. WTAE-TV meteorolgist Cam Tran departed the station. Rush Limbaugh, 70, conservative talk show host and former KQV-AM disc jockey, died of lung cancer. March Ron Jaye, former WPXI-TV anchor, died at 86. April Cary Pall, former 13Q disc jockey, died at 69. May Veteran KDKA-TV anchor and reporter Paul Martino announced he would retire. Longtime KDKA-TV anchor Stacy Smith retired. The Rev. Dennis Benson, talk show host at WDVE-FM, KQV-FM and WQED-TV., died at 85. June Froggy-104.3 disc jockey and program director David Hopperfield left the station. Caleb James, former WHTX-FM disc jockey, died at 58. July WTAE-TV added a new 4 p.m. newscast. WPXI-TV investigative reporter Aaron Martin left the station. Former KDKA-TV anchor Susan Koeppen was named to anchor WPXI-TV's new 4 p.m. newscast. Ricki Wertz, longtime host of WTAE-TV's "Junior High Quiz," died at 86. WPXI-TV's Amy Hudak and WTAE-TV's Jim Madalinsky got married. August Veteran WTAE-TV reporter David Kaplan left the station. September Controversial conservative talk show host Wendy Bell found a new radio home. WPXI-TV And KDKA-TV "traded" news reporters. WTAE-TV hired southwestern Pennsylvania native Ashley Zilka as a reporter. October WTAE-TV hired Kasey Reigner for its weather team. KDKA-TV hired southwestern Pennsylvania native Erika Stanish as a new reporter. WPXI-TV reporter Michele Newell left town. WPXI-TV reporter Mike Holden returned to the air after suffering a mysterious medical ailment. November Longtime WTAE-TV anchor Kelly Frey left the station after more than two decades. After six years, Katelyn Sykes left WTAE-TV. December Elena LaQuatra was named anchor of WTAE-TV's noon newscast. Longtime WDSY-FM disc jockey Stoney Richards left the station.
