EVERGREEN PARK, IL — A death investigation is underway after a man was found shot in a home Saturday morning in Evergreen Park.
Around 9:15 a.m., Evergreen Park police received a complaint of shots fired in the 8800 block of South California Avenue. Officers along with village paramedics attended to the injured person, who had been shot, police said in a news release.
The man was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. The Cook County Medical Examiner is withholding the name of the man pending notification of family.
A person of interest has been taken into custody by Evergreen Park police. The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is assisting in the investigation.
