In search of small female dog

Looking for a small low shedding female dog, less than 5 years old. Due to mild allergies, must be a breed such as maltese, shih-tzu, or poodle, or possibly a mix. Can offer a great home, with large fenced in yard. We have excellent vet and groomer references. This would be a cherished only pet, but would accompany wife to work, so she must be dog and kid friendly. Willing to pay reasonable rehoming fee in relation to how much vetting, etc that would be required.
