Happy New Year Everybody,
So, I'm in my late 50's - have played out in classic rock band and blues bands for quite some time in the Pittsburgh area. I have a L-O-N-G list of blues/classic rock songs that I am very familiar with and can play in my sleep
I would rank myself as a skilled and proficient player with a knowledge of theory and chord structures as well. I read music and charts but that really doesn't come into play for cover bands playing ZZ Top :)
Looking for a project at this point - anything that I can take pride in, and also make some new musician friends. I am open to just about anything including jazz, acoustic duo or trio (I can offer background harmony but that's about it in terms of vocals), classic rock or blues. I can bring an Ibanez Hollow Body or an acoustic/electric or an Strat/Tele to the party, whatever works.
I would also definitely be interested in finding a female singer out there for something like Jessica Lee and Mark Strickland do - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MPgSQB6wXs - and no, I am not as good a guitar player as Mark Strickland
I am a serious and dedicated player and definitely willing to put forth the effort for the right project.
In terms of travel - it all depends on the situation, right? Having said that, I can't see myself driving to places like Washington PA or Butler for rehearsals. Been there, done that - no offense to those of you who live in those places.
My goal, of course, is to play out. But that's a little tricky and less frequent with Covid, and probably will be for some time.
Let me know what you think - Let's give it a go. Thanks
