Violinists Fritz Gearhart and Charles Wetherbee perform a concert of violin duos from the last 300 years.
Join us for this classical music concert at the Historic Shelton-McMurphey Johnson House in Eugene, Oregon. Violinists Fritz Gearhart and Charles Wetherbee perform a concert of violin duos from the last 300 years. The venue is very small so there will be only 40 tickets available. This is a fundraising concert for the Redfish Music Festival Scholarship Fund and the Shelton-McMurphey Johnson House. RMF is a week long music festival that happens on the southern coast of Oregon during the first week in August 2022. It will include live concerts, and an educational component for 16 students. The cost for the festival is $1300 per student, and for some students this can be a barrier. We are developing a scholarship fund, and all proceeds ($20 for RMF and $10 for Shelton McMurphey Johnson House) will go to supporting these two causes. RMF will use all scholarship funds raised to offer scholarships to students to attend the Redfish Music Festival in August. RMF is on its way to becoming a nonprofit, and is expected to be fully through the process by March 2022. Donations will be tax deductible retroactively once the final paperwork from the government is processed.
RMF is very excited to partner with the Shelton-McMurphey Johnson House. The intimate nature of this venue will be a special experience for all concert attendees. Light refreshments will be offered at the conclusion of the concert.
The Redfish Music Festival hosts a week long classical music festival on the Southern Oregon Coast in August, but also features "off season" events throughout the Northwest in the Fall and Spring. The RMF presents classical chamber music concerts, which are concerts that involve groups of 2-6 people performing together.
