ISO Small Companion for husband with TBI

My husband had brain surgery this summer and a few weeks ago his 16 year old chihuahua passed away. He’s heartbroken. I’m looking for a small breed dog (age and gender don’t matter) that likes to cuddle and chill. Will be indoor but have fenced yard to play in. Will be spoiled rotten and sleep under the covers in bed with us. Please respond with pictures and info. Thank you!
