I had this guy listed to find a new home before, but many of you generously provided advice for me try to see if I could win over this bird’s affection. Sadly, none of the advice worked and this bird still hates me. I cannot make any progress with him. He is obsessed with my finches to the point he chases them around. I don’t think he’s trying to be mean to them. I think he’s just trying to force a friendship and is so intense he ends up scaring them. I don’t actually know the gender. It’s likely a female. The cere is turning whitish blue but was originally pink. It’s my understanding that you can’t really tell until 9-12 months for a fancy and 6 months for a standard Budgie. Anyways, this bird is named Broccoli. Since we never bonded, I’m sure there will be no issue changing his or her name, if desired. I think Broccoli needs to be with other birds. I helped rescue birds before, and had little trouble getting them to warm up to people. Perhaps that’s because previous birds already came from a house where it was lonely. This bird came from a pet store and was removed from his flock. Or maybe Broccoli hates men as the staff at the pet store was all female. I don’t know, but if you already have parakeets and can handle another I believe Broccoli will be happier with a flock. If Broccoli doesn’t get along with your other birds, I will take him back. I don’t hate Broccoli, but Broccoli hates me. No homing fee required. Use the money to get his nails done or to buy dummy eggs if you don’t want them breeding. I only expect you to have basic understanding of bird care.
