SYNOPSIS OF THE FILM: When a filmmaker sets out across the country asking strangers to delve into the abuse and hurt caused by their fathers, it forces him to look inward and address the same hurt he never realized he carried. We set out across the country sitting down with strangers, simply as an experiment to see if they would be willing to be completely vulnerable with two filmmakers they had never met.The utter shock wasn't the complete openness of nearly every stranger, but that every person across state-lines growing up in completely different backgrounds, shared the same hurts and coped with pain in the same way. We stumbled into the human condition.It became the ultimate story of how broken fathers create broken children and those broken children, consciously or subconsciously Religious or Non-Religious, project those characteristics upon God. The whole project at its core exists to do two things: 1. Correct how we see God the Father. To help the viewers realize how they might be incorrectly projecting the qualities of their imperfect earthly fathers on their perfect heavenly Father. For if people saw the true character of God and understood who He truly was, we could see the church mobilize in radical ways. 2. It then allows the viewer to turn around and forgive their own father. For if we understand that the grace we were looking for all along comes from God and not our own fathers, the pressure is lifted, father and child can turn to each other and seek reconciliation.
