IN UTERUS: All-female Nirvana Tribute is seeking a female drummer for a permanent position in the band. In Uterus has played in great Bay Area & Nor Cal venues such as Retro Junkie (Walnut Creek), The Chapel (SF), Verdi Club (SF), Ace of Spades (Sacramento), and more! We have four band members: Lead vox/rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass, and drums. We are women in our early-to-mid 40s. We're a tight-knit group seeking a fun-loving, responsible, seasoned musician to come join the family and the fun! We all have solid careers and families. We understand that your job and family need to come first! No worries. This band is a "paid hobby" band for each of us, but we do take our practices and performances seriously while having as much fun together as possible. General Details: • Gig pay is split evenly between all performing band members • Practices are unpaid. We do it 'cuz we love it...and let's face it. It's basically a "girls night out." • We vote on the gigs we do, set lists, and new song choices in a democratic fashion...there is no "leader" in this band #divasBeware • Most of our gigs are in the Bay Area and do not require overnights/out-of-town, though we do some gigs like that upon occasion if everyone agrees to do so • Practices are usually held in the East Bay at Soundwave Studios in Oakland. However, if you have your own practice space or studio in Oakland, we'd be willing to migrate to you! • Frequency of gigs and practices TBD once we find our faboo, new drummer. We generally gig no more than 3-4x per year when COVID isn't "a thing," as this is a secondary or even tertiary band for some of us. • We already have a gig set for July 9th, 2022 at Retro Junkie for an outdoor '90s Festival with more requests in the works. • Our gigs are usually 60-90 min. long. We specialize in opening for other bands or participating in '90s shows with multiple bands performing • You must be 21+ • You must be fully vaxxed • You must have all your own gear • You must have your own means of transportation to and from rehearsals and gigs, though, sometimes, we do carpool Already in another gigging band? No problem. Most of us are, too! We do our best to keep an organized band calendar that works for everyone. As long as we're all available to do a gig, we'll book it!
