Mobile Mechanic to install fuel pump

Year, make, model: 2001 Chevy Express 1500 Issue: Keeps cutting off while Im driving. I had a buddy drive it and he said it was a fuel issue. He replaced the fuel filter for me and it ran perfect for 2 days but started doing the same thing again. He says it's either the pump going out but since the check engine light is not coming on it may be a loose connection. The pump is inside the tank. The cheapest one I found is about $350 from auto zone. Looking for someone that know what they are doing, has the necessary tools and can come to me and diagnose it first to make sure it's the pump and not a loose connection and can fix it right the first time.
